The Matchbook exchange does not operate as a traditional bookie. Instead, it acts as the middleman so bettors can place wagers against each other rather than the house. Both sides have to agree on the odds to lock the bet. The betting site makes money by charging a commission on wagers. It solely applies to winning bets and is 2% in the UK and Ireland, while all other countries have to pay 4%.
