1XBet gets a €400.000 fine in Netherlands

The Dutch gambling regulator KSA has issued 1XBet with a huge fine in the amount of €400.000 for offering its services to the customers of the territory without having any licenses to do so. Both the domains 1xBet.com and xbet-1.com had the Dutch language, as well as the option for the players to deposit into their accounts via specific Dutch payment methods. In addition, the KSA is after the parent company 1X Corp. N.V. and their 83 gambling domains offering their services to the Dutch players. 1X Corp. N.V. told from their site that these are not extra gaming websites since, in order to be accessible, the players should just enter their 1xBet.com and xbet-1.com credentials.

Currently, online gambling in the Netherlands is under reshaping and is illegal for now. This led some big operators to receive fines from the KSA, like William Hill (€300.000), Betsson Group (€300.000), and MRG (€312.000). KSA chair René Jansen said: «Online gambling in the Netherlands is illegal; under the current legal regime for companies, it is not possible to get a license for offering online games of chance. Consumers are not assured of a safe game on an honest market with illegal providers». The licenses are about to be issued in mid-2020.
