Tampa Bay was the 5th seeded team at NFC entering the playoffs from the Wild Card round, winning Washington Football Team 31-23. At the NFC Divisional playoffs, eliminate the New Orleans Saints with 30-20 on the road, and then beat Green Bay Packers 31-26 at Lambeau Field.
As a 1st-seeded team, Kansas City entered the postseason at AFC Divisional playoffs, eliminating Cleveland Browns with a 22-17 win. At the AFC Championship Game, the Chiefs beat Buffalo Bills with 38-24 reaching the Super Bowl LV.
The Bucs are the home side of the Super Bowl LV; they will choose jerseys’ color, meaning that Chiefs will be wearing red if Tampa Bay wears the away white color uniform. This is because 13 of the last 16 Super Bowl winners have worn whites.
Tampa Bay will choose the uniforms, so Kansas City will get to call the coin three minutes before kick-off; that actually will not affect the Super Bowl Coin Toss Odds (Heads and Tails are at 1.97 odds).
The Bucs’ coach, Bruce Arians, is widely known for his offensive tactics. He was an offensive coordinator and wide receiver coach at Pittsburgh Steelers when they won the Super Bowl titles in 2005 and 2008.
Kansas City coach, Andy Ried, goes for his second Super Bowl in a row. When he won his first title with the Packers in 1996, he was an assistant offensive line and tight ends coach. Then he got promoted as a quarterback and assistant coach. Ried knows how to attack, and he’s one of the main reasons that Mahomes every year is going better.
The NFL had announced that the championship game would have 25,000 fans in attendance due to pandemic restrictions; 7,500 of whom would be healthcare workers who had received a vaccine.
