After many years of fights and disputes, the government of Vietnam decided at last to allow to the local players the betting activity on international football matches and at horse and dog races as well. Of course there are some requirements that has been established from the government. Those requirements include limiting legal wagering to those 21 years of age or older, and football wagers will be limited to matches that have the approval of international football overseers FIFA. Moreover, the players should place the bets through authorized betting agencies, but those should not be located within 500 metres of a school or a children’s park.
Finally there are some unbelievable limits at the amount of money a player can bet, the maximum daily amount is 1 million VND, which means $45 daily. Of course, that part was the one that brought the most disputes and controversies, but as it seems the players should go with that for now, with the high rollers becoming unsatisfied by this requirement.
