The online bookmaker Novibet has given up its UKGC license and exited the British market starting from February 21, 2022. On the official domain Novibet.co.uk, a message explains that: ''We would like to inform you that Novibet will not continue to operate in the UK from 21.02.2022. If you already have funds in your game account, please kindly withdraw them. For any questions or clarifications please contact our customer support team. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.”
Novibet began taking British punters in November 2014 (drawing around 368,000 in total) and offered an array of sports betting options, casino games and poker. According to industry insiders, Novibet will shift focus to markets in North and Central America, although the company stated ''commercial reasons'' behind the exit.
A representative of the UK Gambling Commission said: “We have been informed by Novigroup Ltd that it is surrendering its licence. The operator is aware that we expect an orderly closure of its website to GB consumers and this includes providing consumers with clear information on how to obtain their funds. If a customer has questions concerning their account they should contact the operator via its website.”
Additional services and channels like Novibet's UK social media have also been deactivated. That means members asking for details on the withdrawal process can only do it via the bookmaker's website.
