The Swedish operator, Betsson, has announced a partnership with Brazil’s Campeonato Pernambucano for the tournament’s 108th edition. The bookmaker will try to boost its LATAM profile, and this new deal is a part of this strategy.
Betsson Becomes a Household Name in South America
“The finals of the Pernambucano 2021 attracted a record audience. According to TV Globo’s data, we surpassed the finals of the Paulista and Carioca Championships. We are very happy with Betsson’s support, which allows us to invest even more in football in Pernambuco and pay for all the officials of the championship, such as the referees, assistant referees and video assistant referees (VAR) in the final stages. Betsson is a market leader that is betting on the credibility that the Federation has earned over the years.” said Evandro Carvalho, President of the Pernambuco Soccer Federation (FPF).
Andre Gelfi, Managing Partner of Betsson in Brazil, commented: “The Pernambucano is one of the biggest and most traditional state championships in Brazil, attracting millions of passionate fans. Following our good experience in the region by supporting Íbis Sport Club, we truly believe in the potential of this championship to further expose our brand and engage with fans.”
Betsson has a constant presence in Brazil since 2019 and within 2021 it became the official sponsor of football team Íbis Sport Club. As a part of this new deal, Betsson will run marketing and PR activities throughout the championship’s latest season. The new campaign will be called “Pernambucano Betsson 2022” and starts on January 22.

Betsson is one of the industry leaders in Scandinavia. The brand keeps walking down the road of legitimacy and legality. After all, the Betsson Group is listed on the stock exchange, and transparency is always the target. The in-house platform is quick and easy to use, both on mobile and desktop and product-wise, there are only a few black marks. Odds on secondary leagues are short; the brand tends to cut winners fast, while the stake limits on the events are mainly low. On the other hand, I like the odds on the top leagues, which can challenge those of Bet365 and are better than Bwin’s. Live streaming and the whole live betting section are state-of-the-art, while the quick withdrawals give an extra boost to the recreational bettors looking for a safe and legit bookie.
