Entain reveals UK fans are backing up France on EURO 2020

entain-euro-photo With EURO 2020 starting today, Entain has made the estimation that more than 3 million people will place bets on the tournament, with almost 50% of UK fans betting on France to be the tournament’s winners.

Entain, the owner of many renowned sports betting brands, like Bwin and Coral, has revealed that its UK players have placed the most bets so far; with many of them putting money on their home nation.

However, an astonishing percentage of more than 28% of bets have been placed in favour of France winning the tournament; followed by England which gathered 20% of the total bets and Belgium coming third with 12%.

Chief Executive of Entain, Jette Nygaard-Andersen, stated: “Most betting will be after the tournament starts, and we expect to see roughly twice as many fans placing bets on the Euros as in the last World Cup, reflecting the growth of our business in the past three years. With offers across most countries taking part we’re perfectly placed to offer fans exciting experiences.”

Most UK fans expect Harry Kane to be the top goal scorer with 23% of them placing their wagers on England’s captain, followed by Romelu Lukaku who is backed by 22% of bettors; even though he is the first choice as the top goal scorer amongst fans outside the UK.
