The renowned bookmaker Expekt, is the newest acquisition of the LeoVegas Group and will soon be relaunched to offer an improved sports betting product to the Nordic region, starting with Sweden and Finland.
LeoVegas bought Expekt back in March for €5 million, aiming to expand and solidify its presence in the sports betting sector, in the Nordics. In addition to this, Expekt has been migrated to Rhino, LeoVegas’ proprietary technical platform (PAM) to ensure the elevated betting experience it has to offer.
With the migration of Expekt and of Royal Panda earlier this month, LeoVegas has all of its brands on the same technical platform (PAM), which provides conditions for continued scalability and efficiency for the company.
The CEO of LeoVegas’ group, Gustaf Hagman, stated: “The timing couldn’t be better with the eventful years in sport that we have in front of us. By running Expekt on our technical platform starting from today, customers will be able to partake in our award-winning gaming experience – both for sports betting and casino. Expekt will once again be a leading sports betting brand in Sweden and the Nordic countries, and that work starts today.”

Expekt was one of the most popular online bookmakers for Nordic bettors during the first decade of the new millennium. In 2005 their reputation took a serious hit due to problems on their poker website. After this incident, the brand saw quite a few ownership transitions. Since the first quarter of 2021, Expekt belongs fully to the potent LeoVegas Group. Still, the sportsbook product they currently offer is pretty average, and it seems like they rely solely on their brand name, which has remained pretty recognizable in Nordic countries, especially Sweden and Finland. Nevertheless, they offer a decent number of betting markets, along with essential features like Cash Out, Bet-Builder and Live Streaming. Moreover, the MGA and Swedish licenses are a clear indication of reliability and quality. With that being said, I would like to see them improve over various sectors. Promotions & Bonuses are almost nonexistent and the lack of payment methods is unacceptable. I hope that LeoVegas manages to bring them up on their feet. They have a good foundation and the experience needed to make it a top-tier Scandinavian bookie again. Feel free to try them.
