Dominic Beier has stepped down from his position as Interwetten Sports’ Speaker of the Board. The 29-year-old had joined the company in 2018, replacing Werner Becher. To cite his own words, Mr. Beier wrote on his LinkedIn account:
“It’s been 2 great years at Interwetten Group. We have delivered, two times in a row, record revenues (2019 and 2020), increased profitability, modernized the processes, gave the company a new communication strategy, lifted the product back to the top, and all that during hard times for the industry as well as big challenges for the whole society. Thanks to all employees, the management team, suppliers, partners as well as all other companions and supporters for the very inspiring and successful time together. Now it’s time to take on the next challenge.”.
Different Opinions Pushes Beier to Find New Challenge
Having started his career at the Austrian-based streaming platform Laola1 in 2011, he later joined Sportradar in 2016, reaching the position of Global Head of Sponsorship & Advertising sales and being one of the youngest top-notch executives in the business.
After his two successful years with Interwetten, he said that they hold ‘different views on how to develop and position the company’, subsequently leading to a common decision to separate their paths.

Interwetten has been around since 1990 and online since 1997, so it has been rightfully named the “grandfather of online betting”. The vast presence of the brand in 70+ countries and their 30+ years of stability in the betting world do the talk. The truth is that IW was one of the most slow-moving companies for many years, but this has changed after the new CEO, Dominik Beier, took over. Still, the odds are usually shorter compared to other leading bookmakers, and the betting limits are mediocre. I want to see them adding trending features like Bet Builder or Auto Cashout, removing the withdrawal fees, and adding live chat. On the other hand, I like the offered promotions, the really cool loyalty program, the high odds on favourites, and the quick payout. Also, the site is straightforward to use. Therefore, they have an extensive 35+ customer base. Interwetten is a top choice if you prefer to bet on football, tennis or motorsports or if you are a favourites' punter.
