Betsson acquires 75% stake of Brazilian operator Suaposta

16 Dec 2019

brazil-betssonThe Swedish bookmaker Betsson has taken a 75% stake of Suaposta, which is one of the first betting brands to ever operate in Brazil. The Stockholm-based bookie is aiming at expanding into the Brazilian betting market and the best way to achieve this was through the acquisition of a majority stake of one of Brazil’s leading bookies.

Suaposta has a long-standing partnership with the Rio Grande do Sul Jockey Club (JCRGS) and is known as the only authorized online horse race betting operator in Brazil. Its founders, Andre Gelfi and Fernando Correa, will keep on being in charge of the company’s local operations.

Andre Gelfi seemed very pleased that his company will join forces with Betsson as he stated that the imminent partnership will help them contribute to the development of the Brazilian online betting market.

Betsson hasn’t publicly acknowledged yet the deal with Suaposta, nonetheless this is expected to happen very soon. The Nordics are very optimistic regarding the regulation of betting in Brazil and the forthcoming licensing of international operators, that's why they have chosen to invest in the local market.

BOOK SPY BONUS REVIEW

Betsson is one of the industry leaders in Scandinavia. The brand keeps walking down the road of legitimacy and legality after all the Betsson Group is listed on the stock exchange and transparency is always the target. The in house platform is quick and easy to use, both on mobile and desktop and product-wise, there are only a few black marks. Odds on secondary leagues are short, the brand tends to cut winners fast, while the stake limits on the events are mainly low. On the other hand, I like the odds on the top leagues, which can challenge those of Bet365 and are better than Bwin’s. Live streaming and the whole live betting section are a state of the art, while the quick withdrawals give an extra boost to the recreational bettors looking for a safe and legit bookie
