Arrest of over 1000 people for illegal online gaming

The Phillippines authorities proceeded to an arrest of about 1200 individuals for their participation in illegal online activities. All those were Chinese immigrants and were caught in action after a raid at the Fontana Leisure Parks & Casino in Clark, Pampanga. It s not clear though if those were working for Fontana, but for sure they were acting as operators for a call center.

In fact, it is worth noting that none of them held the necessary documents and permission to work in the country. Online gambling is still illegal to Philippines, but this hasn’t stopped thousands of people to interfere with online betting. All these may change a bit soon, since the government of Phillippines have received 76 applications for online gambling licenses that will enable the foreigners who are aged over 21 years old to participate in gambling activities.
