William Hill preparing for US sports betting entrance

Legendary British bookmaker William Hill recently partnered with GVC Holdings to offer sportsbook products in Mississippi and West Virginia. Specifically, William Hill will provide sports betting risk management and mobile betting services to famous Mississippi casinos such as Hard Rock Casino Hotel, Casino Biloxi, Island View Casino Resort in Gulfport and WaterView Casino in Vicksburg. William Hill also came in agreement with a partner in West Virginia, whose name will soon be publicly known, that will allow retail and mobile/online sports betting offerings in the state. All services are anticipated to go live within August.

Philip Bowcock, William Hill CEO announced his happiness for the latest developments and how they could contribute to solidifying the well-known operator's standing in the US. As of now they offer 107 sportsbooks in Nevada along with a race book in the state of Iowa and several other offerings in Delaware. New Jersey is their new target where they plan to release a mobile application in the weeks to follow.

In addition, a new partnership between William Hill and IGT took place for the Rhode Island Lottery Sports Betting RFP. William Hill CEO also pointed out that the PASPA repeal was the offset for further business development in Nevada and Delaware, and how the 11 new deals will give them a head start in the state of Mississippi. The operator expects to do significantly better in the US than it did in the UK, where they announced a £820 million loss in the first six months of 2018.
