He bet on Ireland to win the World Cup 2018 and Paddy Power paid his bet

8 Sep 2017

ireland-v-wales-oddsDespite Ireland’s home loss from Serbia some days ago, an Irish fan bet €3 at the price of 150/1 at Paddy Power for his favorite national team to lift the trophy next summer in Moscow.

His courage and faith struck a chord with Paddy Power. The famous bookmaker decided to pay him out the full amount of €450, just for his determination to take the bet.

A spokesperson for Paddy Power said: “The mood in the country certainly wasn’t one of optimism after last night’s result so we can’t but admire the stones on this lad. Given the timing of the bet he may have been drowning his sorrows but feel as though his ridiculous optimism can’t go unrewarded and have decided to pay the man his money.”

At this time, Ireland are in the 3rd position of the 4th group, and if they do not beat Wales in Cardiff, they will not have any hope for qualification.

We have to mention that Paddy Power has done something similar with two Rangers fans, who have decided to bet on Astana to overcome a five goal deficit against Celtic.
