Betting sites in the United Kingdom have decided to take active steps against problematic gambling behaviour. Along with the help of the Remote Gambling Association (RGA) they have launched GAMSTOP, the self exclusion tool for gamblers.
What to Expect from GAMSTOP?
GAMSTOP lets any players who encounter problematic behaviour while betting, self exclude themselves from any bookmaker, within a few clicks. RGA affiliated sites took this step as a means of protecting individuals, following increased percentages of problematic gambling behaviour in Britain. Furthermore, GAMSTOP allows players to view helpful information that will help them with gambling addiction or behavioural problems.
Fiona Palmer, RGA Director of Social Responsibility welcomed the new initiative: "We are at a very exciting stage in the development of GAMSTOP. With the branding now established and process design well advanced, the focus in the coming months will be on technology integration and industry communication. We are therefore confident that we will deliver self-exclusion on the truly national scale needed to assist consumers who need this kind of help to manage their gambling."
