Italy: Lawmakers approves raise on VLT Comma6a gaming taxes

Italy has recently approved the changes on its taxing regime regarding VLT's and Comma6a. According to the new legislation, operators are required to pay increased taxes, as of 8/05/2017.

These new increases mean that online casinos will now have to pay:

An added 1.5% to 19% of the turnover for Comma6a gaming machines
1% more, up to 6% on the total turnover on the Video Terminal Lotteries
Winning tax due by players for VLT winnings exceeding € 500 will be increased from 6% to 12% in 1 October 2017

According to carefully considered estimations, these increases will have a negative effect on player winnings. It is projected that operators will lower the RTP rates of each slot in order to balance revenue losses.
