Grupo Codere is a Spanish listed gambling operator and one that has a great success in the territory, but the plans for expanding of their business will get them on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean and more specifically on Mexico. Just a few days ago they informed the market that they have moved to acquire all shares in Mexican joint venture Grupo Caliente MX. To be precise, they will purchase all Caliente assets outright, by acquiring the remaining 32.7% of company shares for a reported $26 million. After all, Grupo Codere has been backing Grupo Caliente for many years and they have a good partnership that maybe will lead them to even greater success.
Caliente’s Mexican gambling portfolio consists of land-based casino properties, arcades, in-stadia betting parlors and an online betting portal, meaning that Codere will open their business portfolio in a very large scale. We should remind that was also not a long ago before when Codere also announced a 51% investment in Italian gambling machine operator Nori Games, who operate 400 machines in the region of Lombardia.
