EnergyBet departs from the Polish market

22 Mar 2017

energybet-logoThe new regulations that have been passed in Poland, have made EnergyBet Poland to take a decision to bow out from the Polish market. EnergyBet followed the example of many other bookmakers, which withdraw from the territory. EnergyBet had hoped that the Polish government would listen to the advice of the European Union and other authorities, but this never happened, the new bill remains intact and that is what made all the betting operators, including EnergyBet, to depart from Poland. Already all the players’ accounts are closed and the money has been refunded to them.

In a statement the company stated: «The decision to cease offering EnergyBet services to customers in Poland was not taken lightly, and any resulting inconvenience and disappointment is very much regretted.». EnergyBet CEO Marcin Sapinski commented on the matter: «The Polish market has always been very important to us, and we share the frustration of Polish customers. We will continue to monitor developments, with the aim of returning to the Polish market if things change. In the meantime, we would like to thank our Polish customers for their understanding».

Since 2016, when EnergyBet came at the spotlight, has managed to make huge leaps regarding trustworthiness. The prestigious awards they scooped along with the two major licenses and the significant sponsorships create massive awareness for the brand. I love the fact that the in house platform is stable and quick, but all these don’t mean that there aren’t points I would like to see them improve. Those apply mostly to their product. There are many essential features missing, namely partial/auto cashout, and most importantly average odds. On the other hand, the massive range of sports, events and markets, both at pre-match and live, the great variety of local payments and the quick withdrawals made me feel warm towards them. For sure, EnergyBet can’t be compared yet to bookies like Bet365 or Pinnacle, but due to its seriousness and feeling of safety, it is - in my eyes - a top choice.
